Topic Entity Framework

The Premise: Narrow Beats Clever

Large language models don’t read articles from top to bottom looking for clever prose; they tokenize text, extract entities, evaluate semantic relationships, and lift self-contained logical chunks. When your brand’s definitions wobble across pages, model confidence drops. If you don’t deliberately define what your brand is associated with, AI systems will guess. And when models guess, you become mathematically invisible.

Stage 01

Define: Entity Mapping & Boundaries

What do you actually want AI to associate with your brand?

An entity is any distinct, nameable thing—a person, company, concept, product, or area of expertise. A Topic Entity is the specific subject area you intend to own. Not a broad category like “SEO” (useless) or “Marketing” (background noise), but a bounded concept like “AI Search Visibility” or “AI Mention Rate Measurement.”

Map Candidate Entities

List topics where you have genuine, verifiable depth—experiments you’ve run, original data you own, and frameworks you’ve built.

Clarify Context & Audience

Define precisely who the entity serves and under what operational constraints. Precision prevents semantic collision.

Identify Baseline Gaps

Probe engines directly: what does the model currently associate with you? Where is your core expertise missing or misattributed?

Stage 02

Structure: Entity Hubs & Chunk Architecture

Making your expertise legible to retrieval engines.

You can publish brilliant observations and still be invisible to RAG pipelines if your content is scattered across disconnected URLs. Structure isn’t aesthetic design; it’s semantic legibility.

  • The Hub Page Anchor: Build a dedicated destination for each core topic entity. The entity name lives explicitly in the H1, backed by a clear overview and direct links to every supporting cluster asset.
  • One Post, One Primary Entity: Every supporting article must declare allegiance to exactly one primary entity. Juggling three unrelated concepts in one post dilutes the vector signal.
  • Self-Contained Logical Chunks: Structure sections into ~200–250 word units. Explicitly name the brand, product, and entity inside the chunk so context travels with the snippet when lifted by a crawler.

Stage 03

Reinforce: Semantic Linking & Connected Schema

Turning a collection of pages into a connected knowledge graph.

Reinforcement is how you teach AI systems that your pages belong together. We execute this through two synchronized mechanisms:

Internal Semantic Linking

Links are declarations of relationship, not PageRank funnels. Every supporting post links back to its hub page using consistent, entity-aligned anchor text. Avoid linking everything to everything; clean topical boundaries win.

Connected @graph JSON-LD

Move past single-page “Article” markup. Connect your ecosystem into a nested graph using stable @id references: post isPartOf hub, authoredBy Person, worksFor Organization, about DefinedTerm.

Production Tool

Topic Entity Schema Generator

Don’t hand-code nested entity graphs. Generate clean, valid JSON-LD schemas linking your hub pages and content nodes directly to Wikidata and Wikipedia reference nodes.
